About Reverend Ren

Hello and welcome to Heartsong Ceremonies. My name is Rev. Ren Porter. I am an ordained interfaith minister. I officiate ceremonies throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Some of the varieties of ceremonies that I create and perform are weddings, renewal of vows, commitment ceremonies, baby blessings, memorials, and other ceremonies commemorating life's many transitions.

Many people ask what does it mean to be an interfaith minister. Interfaith is in essence a respect for and an acknowledgement of all of the many different religious beliefs and spiritual understandings. It is an embracing of the values and traditions of all religious and spiritual paths. Personally, I honor all people and accept you for who and what you are. I believe in the unity of all people and that truly…LOVE is the answer.

I was ordained by the School of Sacred Ministries in Doylestown, PA, where I currently serve as a member of the Advisory Circle. I also serve as Music Minister for the Church of Divine Consciousness in Brodheadsville, PA.

I take great joy in creating ceremony and see it as a way of touching the spiritual dimensions of life. There are many opportunities for ceremony beyond those which are commonly celebrated. Some of these could include, but of course are not limited to…blessing your new home, retirement, graduation, healing, anniversary, honoring life cycles such as coming of age or aging, seasonal celebrations for the solstice or equinox, bon voyage, recovery from illness or addiction, new job, birthday, or divorce. The opportunities for ceremony are endless.

If you wonder what is meant by your Heartsong…it is your own unique expression of who you are. One of my goals is to see that your ceremony expresses that uniqueness. If you would like to have your ceremony on a beach or in a park, in the mountains or in a boat, I am happy to accommodate. If you want a ceremony that is spiritual, but not religious, or if you choose to create a ceremony that includes a number of different cultural and religious elements, I will help you create just that.
